Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. The applicant must have an EMT license for at least one year. They must pass the oral and written board to qualify to be in the paramedic class. Applicant must pass a physical examination which includes an EKG and a chest xray and TB test. All immunization records must be current including the Hepititus B vaccination.

The course is a 2 year course.

The Buckeye Valley Fire District driving requirements are:
21 years of age
Pass the BVFD driving course
Signed off by a BVFD driving instructor
