Firefighters are required to take the Firefighter I & II course and become Arizona State Certified at the end of the course. At the current moment the fire district doesn't require firefighters to be EMTs but these skills will be helpful on medical calls.
Buckeye Valley Fire District (BVFD) has a reserve program which involves a dedicated person that wants to become a firefighter and a scheduled class is not available. This reserve position allows that person to go on fire calls and assist the firefighters with limited duties.

The Buckeye Valley Fire District driving requirements are:
21 years of age
Pass the BVFD driving course
Signed off by a BVFD driving instructor
